Training Matrix & Compliance Deadline Calculator

Rebuild your compliance-training spreadsheet in the browser: people down the side, courses across the top, completion dates in the cells. The matrix computes who's current, who's due soon and who's overdue — live — plus per-person and per-course compliance rates and a deadline list you can hand to an auditor. Everything runs locally.

Load your matrix

First row: course names. First column: people or roles. Cells: completion dates (YYYY-MM-DD) — blank = never trained.

The matrix is computed locally — open your browser's network tab to verify no names or dates are uploaded.

  • Current — completed and not expiring within the warn window
  • Due soon — still valid, but expires within the warn window
  • Overdue — past its expiry date
  • Never trained — required but no completion date
  • Not required — excluded from all compliance numbers

Upcoming deadlines

No expiry dates yet — deadlines appear once dated training has a validity period.

Export the audit view

The print-ready audit view is free too — leave an email and it unlocks. Only your email and the tool's name are sent, never the matrix.

  • Print-ready PDF of the color-coded matrix — the page auditors ask for
  • CSV of the computed statuses and expiry dates (opens in Excel)
  • The deadline list, sorted by expiry date

Tired of the spreadsheet? StudyDrome auto-tracks this — and gates it on a passing test. Completion dates, recertification cycles and expiry come straight from the training itself, with compliance evidenced by an assessment pass rather than a video click-through.

Exactly how statuses are computed

Every status follows these rules — published so you can check (or disagree with) any cell:

The what-if date recomputes everything as of a day you choose — useful for “will we still be covered at the audit in March?”.

This is a calculator, not a system of record: the statuses are only as good as the dates you enter, and nothing here reminds anyone automatically. It computes exactly the documented rules below — nothing more.

Frequently asked questions

Are the names and dates uploaded anywhere?

No. The matrix is computed entirely in your browser. The only network calls this page makes are anonymous aggregate counters (which tool, which action) and — only if you use it — the export form, which sends your email address and nothing else. Verify it in your browser's network tab.

What date formats does the import accept?

ISO dates (2026-01-15) and native Excel date cells. Ambiguous formats like 05/01/2026 are refused and reported rather than guessed — in a compliance matrix, a silently mis-read date is worse than a rejected one. In the matrix itself you pick dates with a regular date field.

How is the expiry date calculated?

Completion date plus the course's validity period in calendar months, with month-end clamping (31 January + 1 month = 28 February). You can override the validity for a single cell — say one person holds a longer certificate — and courses with no validity period never expire.

What is the audit view?

The print output: the color-coded matrix with per-person and per-course compliance rates, the status legend, and the deadline list, stamped with the date the statuses were computed. Print it (or save as PDF) and it's the who-is-covered page auditors ask for.

Is this really free?

Yes. Building and checking the matrix needs nothing at all; the print/CSV export asks only for an email address. The tool exists so you can see the kind of compliance tracking StudyDrome automates — with completion evidenced by a passing test, not a click-through.
